Who is coldteablues?
Solitary Pagan, writer, music lover, llama.
The Spanish poet, Federico Garcia Lorca, in his essay, Play and Theory of the Duenda, wrote this, "The duende . . . . Where is the duende? Through the empty arch comes a wind, a mental wind blowing relentlessly over the heads of the dead, in search of new landscapes and unknown accents; a wind that smells of baby's spittle, crushed grass, and jellyfish veil, announcing the constant baptism of newly created things." That's what I want to write of, new landscapes and unknown accents and is why I am constantly striving to hone my skills at this craft. Perhaps some of you who stumble upon this site will also share a love of words and of writing.

Where does coldteablues come from?
Cold Tea Blues is the name of a song from the Cowboy Junkies CD "Pale Sun Crescent Moon." As a writer, I enjoy words and how they're put together. Next to Bob Dylan, Michael Timmins, of the Cowboy Junkies, is one of the best lyricists/musicians I have heard. The lyrics are as follows: Cold Tea Blues (Michael Timmins) If I pour your cup that is friendship. If I add your milk that is manners. If I stop there, claiming ignorance of taste, that is tea. If I pour your cup that is friendship. If I add your milk that is manners. If I stop there, claiming ignorance of taste, that is tea. But if I measure the sugar to satisfy your expectant tongue then that is love, But if I measure the sugar to satisfy your expectant tongue then that is love, sitting untouched and growing cold.
Interests
I am a published writer of poetry, essays and short story. My dream is to win the lottery, open a used bookshop and become a well-known author. Writing isn't work; it's just something that is. There's a poem or story in just about anything in my everyday life. My journal, which I lovingly call "The Daily Growl", is a good way to collect sources for the words I write. My interests, besides writing, are art, music and film. Some favorite writers/poets of mine are Seamus Heaney, Mark Strand, Anne Sexton, A.R. Ammons, Federico Garcia Lorca and Patti Smith and Leonard Cohen (also musicians). Non-poets that I'm enjoying at this time are Dan Brown and Sue Monk Kidd. A few books that, in my opinion, no library should be without are "The Shapes of Our Singing," by Robin Skelton, "A Poet's Guide to Poetry," by Mary Kinzie and "The Discovery of Poetry," by Frances Mayes. There's not really any genre of music that I don't like. However, I tend to be drawn to the eclectic such as alt country. I have a penchant for The Cowboy Junkies along with Bob Dylan, Beck, Johnny Cash, The Flatlanders, Jay Farrar, Ryan Adams, Neko Case the list could go on and on. I'm an inked and pierced solitary Pagan who shares her home with a long-haired black cat named Sheba.
